Independent Safety Lab Testing
EZ Lock Wheelchair Docking Systems are tested in accordance with the rigorous standards set forth in SAE J2249/ISO 10542.
The recommendations set forth in this document require that the wheelchair remains structurally intact, and that the forward excursion of the head, hips, and knees fall within acceptable parameters when subjected to a 30 mph/20 g impact. Subsequent to the impact, the wheelchair must be able to disengage from the docking base.
EZ Lock has a long history of successful impact testing; conducted at some of the most respected university testing facilities in the country.
The Lab Proven success of our system is one of the reasons that EZ Lock is the World's #1 choice wheelchair docking safety
In House Testing
Independent system testing is an important component of our overall safety program; but at EZ Lock we go a step further. We don't simply rely on lab testing with a surrogate wheelchair; we actually test the specific brands and models of power wheelchairs we provide docking systems for.
Our in house crash sled is fully instrumented with sensors detecting speed, G-force, and bodily excursions measured via high-speed photographic analysis. Additionally, all testing is performed utilizing a regulation ATD crash test dummy.
Having our own facility enables us to quickly assess new wheelchair designs for EZ Lock compatibility. The versatility of the EZ Lock Wheelchair Docking System provides you with more choice than any other docking system
